Microneedling is when the skin is pricked with small needles to create controlled trauma to the skin. The purpose of this treatment is to generate new collagen and skin tissue for smoother, firmer, more toned skin. Microneedling is mostly used on the face and may treat various scars, wrinkles, and large pores.
The procedure isn’t overly painful and we use techniques to minimise discomfort. The most common side effects of microneedling are skin redness and irritation.
Microneedling takes multiple sessions to see long lasting effective results, but research has shown it to be an effective, minimally invasive way to improve the health of the skin
Over all, microneedling treatments are considered very safe, and there have been few reports of adverse events. It is also well tolerated by most skin types, including darker skin, and is typically less expensive than other similar treatments, such as laser surgery.
